Diagnostic accuracy of point-of-care ultrasound for shock: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background Circulatory failure is classified into four types of shock (obstructive, cardiogenic, distributive, and hypovolemic) that must be distinguished as each requires a different treatment. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is widely used in clinical practice for acute conditions, and several diagnostic protocols using POCUS for shock have been developed. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of POCUS in identifying the etiology of shock.

Histone H3 lysine 27 crotonylation mediates gene transcriptional repression in chromatin

Histone lysine acylation, including acetylation and crotonylation, plays a pivotal role in gene transcription in health and diseases. However, our understanding of histone lysine acylation has been limited to gene transcriptional activation. Here, we report that histone H3 lysine 27 crotonylation (H3K27cr) directs gene transcriptional repression rather than activation.

Targeted single-cell gene induction by optimizing the dually regulated CRE/loxP system by a newly defined heat- shock promoter and the steroid hormone in Arabidopsis thaliana

Multicellular organisms rely on intercellular communication systems to organize their cellular functions. In studies focusing on intercellular communication, the key experimental techniques include the generation of chimeric tissue using transgenic DNA recombination systems represented by the CRE/loxP system.

Sez6l2 autoimmunity in a large cohort study

There are many causes of cerebellar ataxia (CA) including neurodegeneration and autoimmunity. We detected antiseizure-related 6 homolog-like 2 (Sez6l2) antibody from the serum of a patient with subacute CA.1 In this study, we conducted an 11-year follow-up of a previously reported female (case 1)1 and reported two new cases (case 2 and case 3) of Sez6l2 antibody-positive CA in Japan (online supplemental table 1).
