Development of an Automated Chemiluminescence Assay System for Quantitative Measurement of Multiple Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Antibodies

Serological tests for COVID-19 have been instrumental in studying the epidemiology of the disease. However, the performance of the currently available tests is plagued by the problem of variability. We have developed a high-throughput serological test capable of simultaneously detecting total immunoglobulins (Ig) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) against nucleocapsid protein (NP) and spike protein (SP) and report its performance in detecting COVID-19 in clinical samples.

This year, we were unable to invite the lecturer to campus due to COVID-19; however, in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Yokohama and Vancouver, Mr. Ian Burney, the Ambassador of Canada to Japan, delivered a lecture titled “From rocks and logs to AI: Canada-Japan trade relations in a turbulent global environment” on Zoom Webinar on December 16, 2020.

Medical Education Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic (Report)

On November 6th, the School of Medicine successfully held the first International Online Exchange event with Thammasat University. This is the first trial of this activity at the School of Medicine being solely online since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
