Exploring correlations in genetic and cultural variation across language families in Northeast Asia

Culture evolves in ways that are analogous to, but distinct from, genomes. Previous studies examined similarities between cultural variation and genetic variation (population history) at small scales within language families, but few studies have empirically investigated these parallels across language families using diverse cultural data.

YCU Med Online Clinical Case Discussion with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Strasbourg

The YCU School of Medicine always sees the importance of offering our students world-standard medical education. As a part of our efforts, we have sent more than 10 faculty members in past years to the “PBL* Hawaii Style Workshop” organized by the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM),

Cryo-EM structure of the human MT1-Gi signaling complex

Melatonin receptors (MT1 and MT2) transduce inhibitory signaling by melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine), which is associated with sleep induction and circadian rhythm modulation. Although recently reported crystal structures of ligand-bound MT1 and MT2 elucidated the basis of ligand entry and recognition, the ligand-induced MT1 rearrangement leading to Gi-coupling remains unclear.

An Affordable Image-Analysis Platform to Accelerate Stomatal Phenotyping During Microscopic Observation

Recent technical advances in the computer-vision domain have facilitated the development of various methods for achieving image-based quantification of stomata-related traits. However, the installation cost of such a system and the difficulties of operating it on-site have been hurdles for experimental biologists.
