The Advanced Medical Research Center of Yokohama City University has been accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as the Joint Usage/Research Center for “Advanced Medical Research using Multi-omics on Gene Regulation”. The Center provides its omics and bioinformatics analytical equipment and technologies to other universities, research institutes or companies in order to advance medical research related to gene expression regulation.
In research into gene expression regulation, which forms the core of biological phenomena and is vital to understanding pathophysiology, bioinformatics is an essential technology that enables integrated analysis of massive amounts of omics data. The Center widely promotes joint use and joint research using mass spectrometry and next-generation sequencing analysis, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and single-cell RNA-seq, to contribute to the development of medical research into gene expression regulation.
