She also served as Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the hospital and as Executive Assistant to the President of Osaka University. With over 25 years of dedication to patient safety and quality improvement, she established Japan&#8217;s first hospital-wide patient safety management system in 2001. She served as the conference president of the 14th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society for Quality and Safety in Health Care (JSQSH) and hosted the 8th Resilient Health Care Meeting in 2019. Her recent research uses ethnographic and corpus linguistic methods to examine how digital infrastructures organise inclusion, linking health and disability contexts with wider questions of communicative equity. She has co-authored&nbsp;<em>Exploring Health Communication: Language in Action<\/em>&nbsp;(Routledge, 2012) and is lead editor of the forthcoming second edition of the&nbsp;<em>Handbook of Language and Health Communication<\/em>&nbsp;(Routledge).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:30% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/www-user.yokohama-cu.ac.jp\/~comet\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/SrikantKumarSarangi.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-67 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>Srikant Sarangi<\/strong>&nbsp;is&nbsp;the founder of the COMET Society, an international research group focused on communication, medicine, and ethics.&nbsp;He has been Professor in Humanities and Medicine and Director of the Danish Institute of Humanities and Medicine (DIHM) between 2013 and 2021 at Aalborg University, Denmark, where he continues as Adjunct Professor.
