Sakura MAEZONO obtained her PhD in Human Biology from University of Tsukuba (Japan) and since April 2023 holds a Bioinformatics Assistant Professor position at the Advanced Medical Research Center at Yokohama City University (YCU).

In her previous industry role, Dr. MAEZONO primarily focused on developing bioinformatics pipelines & machine learning algorithms for early cancer detection, using multiple programming languages (R statistical software, Python, Google apps script etc.). Additionally, Sakura is skilled in Big Data Analytics with extensive experience in analyzing NGS and clinical data. She also likes creating interactive and intelligent web-based data analysis tools tailored to aid biologists and clinicians with their research.
