Tetrahymena pyriformis calcium binding protein (TCBP) may be
involved in the calcium sensitive changes in ciliary beating. The
isoforms, TCBP-23 and TCBP-25 are 35% identical in amino acid
sequence; however, their encoding DNA's are 49% identical [54]. Lobe
1,2 most closely resembles lobe 3,4; this reflects a recent gene
duplication and fusion.
